Why David Beckham is suing Mark Wahlberg for $16m

<p>David Beckham has launched legal action against Mark Wahlberg, after a joint business venture into the world of fitness failed. </p> <p>The English soccer legend is suing the Hollywood actor for a whopping £8.5 million (A$16.4 million), claiming he was "duped" by Wahlberg when he started a partnership with the global F45 Training gym. </p> <p>Beckham agreed to be the firm’s global ambassador when he moved to LA as he became friends with Wahlberg, who owns a huge stake of the gym network. </p> <p>The 48-year-old sporting hero is also suing the actor’s firm, Mark Wahlberg Investment Group (MWIG), and gym group F45’s founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch for "fraudulent conduct".</p> <p>Beckham is claiming he lost more than $16 million when stocks he was promised were withheld until after share prices plummeted.</p> <p>In August 2023, F45 Training Holdings announced they had delisted from the New York Stock Exchange after its share price fell by 75 per cent.</p> <p>Wahlberg and the other defendants said the allegations are baseless and are asking the judge to dismiss the lawsuit. </p> <p>The defendants’ motion to dismiss goes further to say David Beckham Ventures Ltd (DBVL) are blaming everyone but themselves for the loss of money, adding: “The 209-page, 610-paragraph SAC [complaint] tries to make up with length what it lacks in merit."</p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images </em></p>

Spice Girls reunite for Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday

<p>Brooklyn Beckham turned 25 on Monday - and his parents marked the occasion with some sweet birthday tributes to their eldest son. </p> <p>David Beckham took to Instagram to share a photo of him on the football field with baby Brooklyn, and boasted about how "proud" he was of his son. </p> <p>"Happy 25th Birthday to my big boy, so proud of the man you have grown into, and you have always kept the same values you grew up with being polite and kind. Beloved sitcom star's cause of death revealed

<p>Beloved <em>Brooklyn Nine-Nine</em> actor Andre Braugher’s cause of death has been revealed, just days after his <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/brooklyn-nine-nine-star-dies-at-age-61" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passing</a>. </p> <p>His publicist confirmed to <em>The Hollywood Reporter</em> that the 61-year-old actor died of lung cancer on Monday, after previously describing it as a "short-illness". </p> <p>Braugher was known for his role as the loveable hilarious but stern Captain Raymond Holt, whom he played for eight seasons in the hit police comedy show. </p> <p>He won two Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and received four Emmy Award nominations, during his time on the show. </p> <p>Tributes have poured in from his co-stars and fans alike shortly after his passing. </p> <p>Melissa Fumero, who played the show’s ambitious detective Amy Santiago, recently shared an emotional tribute with some of her favourite memories with Braugher. </p> <p>“I will remember all the advice you gave me,” she wrote in the caption of a behind-the-scenes photo of her and Braugher laughing together during one of their scenes. </p> <p>“I will remember all the times we laughed because your laugh was one of the all time greatest laughs to have ever existed. I will remember the deep love and loyalty you had for your family. I will remember it every time I ask work to make time for me to be with my family. </p> <p>"I will remember how you sent me pictures of Fall trees in [New Jersey] because you knew how much I missed that time of year back east. I will remember you calling me Melly Fumé. Rebecca Loos claims Beckham is "playing the victim" over affair scandal

<p>Rebecca Loos, the woman at the centre of the alleged <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/finance/legal/woman-at-the-centre-of-alleged-beckham-affair-breaks-silence" target="_blank" rel="noopener">affair scandal</a> with iconic football legend David Beckham, has recently shared her thoughts on the new <em>Beckham</em> docuseries, which was released on Netflix.</p> <p>Loos, now 47 and residing in Norway with her husband and two children, expressed her concerns regarding the way the affair was handled in the docuseries, which was produced in collaboration with Beckham's production company.</p> <p>In the early 2000s, Loos gained notoriety for her claims of a romantic involvement with David Beckham during his time as a football superstar. In the docuseries, the Beckhams primarily discussed the media frenzy that ensued following Loos' revelations in 2003, but skirted around the specifics of the affair itself.</p> <p>It was during that tumultuous period that Loos had declared her connection with the football player while working as his personal assistant, even suggesting that the Beckhams had been dealing with marital issues before her involvement came to light. At the time, the celebrity couple vehemently denied any wrongdoing and even considered legal action against Loos.</p> <p>Victoria Beckham, 49, revealed in the docuseries, "It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life," while David Beckham, 48, tearfully stated, "Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult… what we had was worth fighting for."</p> <p>Loos, however, took issue with David's statement. In a <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12657157/rebecca-loos-affair-david-beckham-netflix.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">candid interview with the Daily Mail</a>, she expressed her frustration: "The [worst] bit for me is that he says he didn't like seeing his wife suffer. That bothered me. Because he's the one that's caused the suffering. He can say whatever he likes, of course, and I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim and he's making me look like a liar, like I've made up these stories. He is indirectly suggesting that I'm the one who has made Victoria suffer."</p> <p>Loos also argued that the docuseries had thrust the affair back into the spotlight, an issue that many had forgotten about since the news first broke 20 years ago, thereby further impacting her reputation. She emphasised, "Yes, the stories were horrible, but they're true. He talks in the documentary about this ultimately being his private life, shutting it down. I think it's one thing to keep your private life to yourself. It's another thing to mislead the public."</p> <p>She suggested that David could have chosen to acknowledge that it was not one of his proudest moments or characterised it as a challenging period and moved on from the subject. However, she felt that he continued to phrase his statements in a way that indirectly shifted the blame onto her.</p> <p>"If you don't want to take responsibility for things because of your family and your children, that's absolutely fine," Loos commented, "But he specifically made it look like… my fault, that he had nothing to do with this."</p> <p>Loos, after the 2003 allegations, embarked on a path as a media personality, participating in various English and Dutch TV shows. In 2008, while filming the Dutch TV show <em>71 Graden Noord</em>, she crossed paths with her future husband, Norwegian doctor Sven Christjar Skaiaa. After becoming pregnant, the couple decided to relocate to Norway in 2009. <p>David and Victoria Beckham have chosen to open up about the "unhappiest" period of their lives, in their highly-anticipated Netflix documentary. </p> <p>The power couple candidly spoke about David's alleged affair in 2003, where he was accused of cheating with his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos after they were spotted leaving a night club in Spain. </p> <p>The rumours spread just after David was transferred from the Manchester United club to Real Madrid . </p> <p>David called the claims “ludicrous” at the time, and now his wife Victoria has also shared her heartache during that time, describing it as the "unhappiest in her life". </p> <p>Ahead of the release of the four-part documentary series, director Fisher Stevens revealed how "unpleasant" it was for him to ask the couple such personal questions. </p> <p>"It wasn't pleasant, but we got into it," he said. </p> <p>"For me, I approached it as, "How did your marriage stay together?" and you'll see how he responds," he added. </p> <p>Producer John Battsek also told <em>The Sunday Times </em>that the couple "signed up” to a nothing off-limits contract, and were happy to discuss tougher subjects. </p> <p>“There was no, “You will not ask that or do that,’" he said</p> <p>"Fisher and I thought that might be the case, but we were clear from the start that we would only do this if we could go in any direction we wanted. <p>Victoria Beckham's cooking skills have been playfully roasted by her daughter, Harper Beckham.</p> <p>In an Instagram story shared to her 31.4 million followers, the former Spice Girl documented a family baking session featuring herself, husband David Beckham, and their daughter Harper.</p> <p>David was filmed in the middle of whipping up an apple crumble using apples from the "Beckham Orchard," while Harper was busy baking chocolate chip cookies.</p> <p>While the father-daughter duo were channeling their inner baker, Victoria was filming the moment and asked Harper whether she inherited her culinary talents from her mum or dad.</p> <p>"Did you learn to cook from daddy or mummy?" UK comedian shreds thousands in protest of David Beckham’s Qatar deal

That prick who shredded loads of money in a cost-of-living crisis.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I told you I was going to destroy £10,000 if you didn’t end your relationship with Qatar before the first day of the World Cup. Brooklyn Beckham roasted over bragging about how he makes his money

<p>Brooklyn Beckham has been roasted online after a cringe-worthy video emerged of him bragging how he makes his money. </p> <p>The son of David and Victoria Beckham featured in a now-viral TikTok with the person filming asking about his career, and how he was able to afford the multi-million dollar red McLaren P1 he was driving. </p> <p>He has since come under fire for claiming it is his job as a chef that helped him afford the luxury car, rather than growing up in a very rich and famous family. </p> <p>Daniel Mac, who films himself asking random drivers of pricey vehicles how they pay for them, excitedly grilled Brooklyn, who frequently posts videos of himself cooking various dishes at home.</p> <p>“Hey, man! What do you do for a living? Your car’s awesome!” asked Mac, who wrote atop the clip that the car costs a whopping $US1.2 million ($A1.7 million).</p> <p>“Um, I’m a chef,” the smiling 23-year-old replied after realising he recognised the influencer.</p> <p>“You’re a chef! Really? “I tried to protect her”: Victoria and David Beckham recount terrifying stalking incident

<p dir="ltr">Footballer David Beckham has handed over his Instagram to a Ukrainian nurse to share the realities of the war.</p> <p dir="ltr">Beckham, who has been a Unicef ambassador since 2005, shared a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CbUlU7ioSNM/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">video message</a> and asked his fans and followers to donate to help.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Today I’m handing over my social channels to Iryna, the Head of the Regional Perinatal Centre in Kharkiv, Ukraine where she is helping mothers give birth,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Please give what you can to support @UNICEF and people like Iryna using the donation link in my bio.”</p> <p dir="ltr">His story then showed a series of videos and images from nurse Iryna who showed how doctors and nurses worked during war.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Hello my name is Iryna, today i’m taking over David Beckham’s Instagram.
